Dr Fethiye Gülin Gedik, is currently Coordinator, Health Workforce in the WHO Regional Office for Eastern Mediterranean. She is a physician with postgraduate training in public health and health economics. She has been working in the areas of health policies, systems and human resources for health over 30 years, with experiences at national and international levels. Following her work as general practitioner at district level and, then at the Ministry of Health on national health policy and health system reforms, she joined WHO. She has worked at different levels and offices of WHO, including WHO headquarters, Regional Offices for Europe (Bishkek and Copenhagen), Western Pacific, Eastern Mediterranean.
