Juana Paola Bustamante, PhD is a labour economist in WHO. She contributed to the Health Labour Market guidebook and provides specialized technical support to countries undertaking HLMA. She leads the work on budget efficiency and performance of health workers. Juana Paola also oversees work on employment assessment in health and she led the work on the impact of COVID-19 in health workforce and policy response. She is an economist with a PhD in Economics and she also holds a master in Development Economics and a master in Environmental economics. Before joining WHO, Juana Paola worked at the international level with ILO and World Bank, and at the country level in Colombia at the Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Finance and National Department of Planning.
