Dr. AlMhawish is a surgeon. For the past eight years, Naser AlMhawish has worked at the Assistance Coordination Unit (ACU), an organization focused on maximizing the impact of assistance delivered to the Syrian people by coordinating the efforts of donors, implementing agencies and community representatives. In his role as Surveillance Coordinator, he worked in health emergency response, including polio outbreak response and AFP-surveillance in Turkey. He also collaborates closely with the WHO on Early Warning, Alert and Response Networks (EWARN) and has expertise in the global standards and organizational procedures and practices in relation to the polio outbreak preparedness and response. Previously, he completed medical training at Aleppo University and Ar-raqqa National Hospital. He is now the Surveillance Consultant at the Gates Foundation, supporting EWARN
