Dr. Paina is a health system and policy researcher, with training in international studies and global public health systems. Her research focuses understanding and managing complex health systems to ensure responsive, equitable, and people-centered access to health services, particularly for vulnerable and under-served populations. Using mixed methods and participatory approaches, Dr. Paina leads and supports implementation research, monitoring and evaluation of complex health system policies and interventions, and policy analysis on numerous topics, including health equity, donor transitions, and health workforce issues.
