Gulnaz Azhymambetova earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing at the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy. She started her professional journey as a head nurse in a family medical centre where she was in charge of patients with diabetes and performed other nursing work. Later, she became a senior nurse and, in 2007, the chief nurse. In 2010, she was appointed as the chief nurse at the Bishkek Healthcare Department. In 2017, she became the president of the Nurses Professional Association of the Kyrgyz Republic, and a year later, she was appointed the Government Chief Nursing Officer of Kyrgyzstan—her current position.
