Dr. Karen Bjøro, RN, MSN, PhD is a leader in global nursing. She is currently 2nd Vice President of the International Council of Nurses and board member since 2017. She serves on the board of the European Forum of National Nurses and Midwives Associations (EFNNMA), an NSA with WHO Euro. From 2011-19 she served as Vice President of the Norwegian Nurses Organization. Dr Bjøro has 40 years of experience in nursing. She received her PhD in adult and gerontological nursing from the University of Iowa (2008) and a Masters degree in nursing administration from the University of Oslo (1999).
