Dr Mutile Wanyee is a Health Systems Management specialist currently working at the Kenya Health Human Resources Advisory Council. The Kenya Health Human Resources Advisory Council was established under the Health Act 2017 with the mandate to review policy and establish uniform norms and standards of staffing needs and make recommendations to the Health Cabinet Secretary on policy guiding in several health workforce matters and welfare. In addition, we are in the process of the development and maintenance of a Master register for all health practitioners in the Country. She has been working with the Council for the last three years and in partnership with a multiagency stakeholders’ forum has been able to spearhead the implementation of the National Heath Workforce Account and are now preparing to report the third cycle. Dr. Mutile and her team is currently conducting a National Workload Indicators of Staffing Needs (WISN) with the support of the WHO to inform the development of the Norms and Standards for Staffing Needs. She has also been working closely with the guidance of the ICT department of the MOH in the establishment of a Health Workforce Information System together with the Human resource County Managers (Sub National) digitalize the health workforce data. Dr Mutile is passionate in all she does and believes in delivering results.
