Rashid Muengele Salim holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. He is a Registered Nurse (RN) practising as a sexual reproductive health service provider. He currently is a member of the International Council of Nurses (ICN) Nursing Students Steering Group (NSSG) and the Vice-president, Africa Novice Nurses and Students Initiative (ANNSI). He is the school nurse at Nova Pioneer. He was part of the National Education Committee in developing National Infection Prevention and Control Protocol in Kenya. He is the immediate former chairperson of Kenya Student and Novice Nurses (KESNNUR). He is the former chairperson of Nairobi University Nursing Students Association (NUNSA). Through the various leadership positions, Rashid has been able to run various student mentorship and community outreach programs focusing on preventive health owing to the increased prevalence of non-communicable diseases in his home country. He is a facilitator of the NursingNow advocacy toolkit.
