His Excellency ZAHID MALEQUE has been an active Member of Parliament since 2009, serving on Standing Committees of Industries and Foreign Affairs. H.E. Zahid Maleque served as State Minister of Health and Family Welfare for the Government of Bangladesh from 2014 to 2019; and as the Minister of Health and Family Welfare since 2019. Under his leadership, Bangladesh witnessed significant growth in hospitals and health facilities, health education institutions and health workforce. H.E. Zahid Maleque’s leadership was also central to Bangladesh Covid-19 response, including successful deployment of 320 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine. In addition to his focus on health, H.E. Zahid Maleque is the founder of several primary and secondary schools in Bangladesh.
